  1. 1.)The black thing is the Dark Thing. The Dark Thing is where Mr. Murry is imprisoned.

2.)In Camazotz, every house is the same shape, size, and color. The children bounce their balls and jump rope in the same synchronized rhythm that governs the whole town. I would be very upset to live in this kind of place because it seems boring and I would be desperate to move to another place.

    1. I agree with Crystal but it is what her father is fighting with and he won't be going home until the Dark Thing is defeated. The Dark Thing scared everyone and even Mrs.Who , Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Whasit were scared. They were scared along with Meg, Calvin, and Charles. I'm sure Meg's father is scared too but using his bravery and strentgh can defeat it.

  2. Camazotz is alike like Earth but it is also different. In Camazotz, every house is the same, the people do things simultaneously, and it is all connected somehow. I wouldn't want to live in a place like Camazotz. Everything is the same. I would like to be my own person without trying to be like everyone else.

    1. I agree tht I wouldn't want to live on Camatoz either. Living in a place were you can never be an individual and stand out from the croud would be horrible for me. On Camaztoz, everything is also decided for you, so you cant even have responsibilities or use judgement unless you are deciding if you are going to follow the rules.

  3. 3. What is it like on Camazotz? How would you like living in a place like this?

On Camazotz, everything is synchronized and done a certain way. Rules are made in this spirit too, but on Camazotz, its every little thing. Even the way the children jump rope, the children bounce the balls, the mothers open the doors, all done at the exact same time the same way.
I couldn't live on a planet where everything is pinpointed down to such a precise science like that. I personally wouldn't be able to do it. It's like mistakes aren't allowed and I wouldn't be able to live that way.

    1. I agree with Ciera when she said that it's like mistakes are not allowed and she wouldn't be able to live like that. I wouldn't be able to live like either because nobody's perfect.

What’s the consequence of making a mistake and messing up the rhythm?

    2. The consequence of making a mistake and messing up the rhythm really depends. When things are going good ans someone messes it up, it can get pretty bad for that person.
It's like at school. Say for example all the behavior is going really well and no one has gotten in trouble at all, the teacher hasn't even given out one verbal. The teachers and students are really enjoying it and then someone, one person, starts acting up. That one person would probably get in more trouble than if it was the whole class because they are messing up the rhythm of good behavior and taking out the positive energy. So, as I had said before, it depends. However, on Camazotz, I feel like the consequence would be harsher just because they have that specific way even with the little things.

Do you think the children enjoy living that way and why do you think it is that way on Camazotz

    3. No, i do not think the children are enjoy life that way on camazotz where everything is pinpoint and on time.camazotz is like that way because maybe they are tired of people making the same mistakes over and over again, so they make everything on time and pinpoint.

  4. 3.) What is it like in Camazotz? How would you like
living in a place like this?

I think that I would like to experience it. But I don't think I would want to live in that kind of community.
I agree with Ciera because I know I am going to make mistakes. I think that everyone makes mistakes. It looks like the houses are on hills but the hill looks like its on earth. They had alot of small trees at the bottom of the hill. They had no strange things on the landscapes like we have.

    1. I think the children don't enjoy living like they do in Camazotz. I think that because they are expected to be perfect and to not mess up the rhythm. They are pressured every time they do something. I think things are done that way in Camazotz because whoever rules Camazotz is a lazy person who doesn't want to deal with anyone's problems.

  6. 1. What is the black thing? How is it connected to Meg's father?

The black thing is the Dark thing that Mr. Murry is fighting. Everyone in Meg's close family misses Mr. Murry especially Meg's mother. From the way the story tells it, Mrs. Murry holds in all of her emotions and really believes that her husband is coming back home. But Meg lets her emotions out thinking that the worst has happened and her dad isn't coming home.

  7. I agree with Crystal that the black thing Meg and the group saw was the Dark Thing. I also agree that is where Mr. Murry is imprisoned. He is trying to fight that black thing and trying to get out of it so that is why Meg can't see her dad. I also agree with Crystal that in Camazotz, every house is the same shape, size, and color and that children do things simultaneously. I would like to live in this place because nobody is out of place and everything is in the right pace with no differences.

  8. 1. What is the black thing? How is it connected to Meg's father?
The black thing is the darkness area which is the Dark Thing. Meg’s father is trapped there so they are trying to rescue him from there.
    3. What is it like on Camazotz? How would you like living in a place like this?
On Camazotz everything is the same. The children play and bounce the ball at the same time. While every person rings the doorbell at the same time and girls skip rope simultaneously Life there is very hard to live and to get use to personally.

  9. 1. The black thing is called IT and is covering the Earth with its dark body. The reason Meg's father is gone is because he was fighting it than got trapped behind.

  10. 3) What is it like on Camazotz? How would you like living in a place like this?

Camazotz is feeling a bit lonely for the most part.I say this because the children have to be formal, doing the same thing every day.Even the children might get depresses and tire for doing the same thing every day and on rhythm. Where is the fun on this? I might be actually going crazy doing the same thing, the same way, and the same time. Even the homes are the same shape ,color, and furniture. What is the point of having everything on beat and on rhythm if you know someone is going to mess up.

  11. 1. The black thing is an evil cloud that is full of darkness. It surrounds Earth, which is why there are so many problems there. The thing was supposed to be destroyed by Mr. Murry, but instead he was trapped, and they need to save him.

  12. I think the black cloud is a symbol of a demon spirt around their family. I agree with Justin because only the evill or the devil is a black cloud.

  13. 1. What is the black thing? How is it connected to Meg's father?

The black thing is darkness itself. Its evils power in which controls us. The evil power trapped them in and awakens Meg. She couldn’t see Charles Wallace or Calvin, but she heard them. That force is the tesseract. The tesseract has her father trapped and they are trying to find him in that force.

When Meg woke up from her bad dream, how did that force feel?

  16. The black thing is the shadow think that ws dark and scary. The students saw this thing when Mrs. Whatsit took them to see the universe. I think that it is connected to Meg's father because when the Mrs. Whatsit told them what it was she immediately started to cry.
