WiT Chapters 11-12 Discussion Questions, Due April 1

Great job on your comments!  This week, please be sure to PROOFREAD, and use specific details!  Also, don't keep answering the same questions.  Let's make this last week of WiT really interesting!
  1. In Chapter 10, Mr. Murry told Meg, " We were sent here for something. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose." Now, Aunt Beast tells Meg, "We are called according to His purpose..." What do you think they mean by purpose?
  2. What is Calvin’s gift from Mrs. Whatsit? How did this gift help him to know what the Three Mrs. W’s really are?
  3. Explain the title of the last chapter.
  4. Would you recommend this book to a friend?  Why or why not?  BE SPECIFIC and GO IN-DEPTH!

    1. I would reccomend this book to a friend because most of my friends like fantasy books like harry potter and book of fantasies. This book talks about things that could happen in real life then go into fantasy.

    2. I think they mean that they're chosen to tell people about God's word and try to change people lives to good from the bad.

    3. The title of the last chapter represents the foolish ways of God, which is considered wiser than man. Basically, its representing a verse in the bible, because that's what it sounds like.

    4. I agree with what Enia is trying to say, and can really believe that she has really gone deep within the group of words, posted.

    5. I would not recommend this book to my friends. I wouldn't recommend this because I did not think it was interesting. I'm more into scary or funny books. I like to read books like GOOSEBUMPS. The first chapter didn't get my attention. It didn't spark anything.

    6. 3) The last chapters title is " The Foolish and the Weak." If you just go from what you already know about what's going on in the book, you'd think that Meg may go through the black thing again and she may not make it out this time, or she may get hypnotized. But, after you raed it, everything that didn't make sense before all the sudden does. You find out that Meg was Sent not only to free her father but to face her fears and save her brother.

    7. 2. Calvin's gift from Mrs. Whatsit is the ablity to communicate with all kinds of people. Calvin's gift helps him to know that the three W's are messengers of god or guardian angels.

    13. I am kind of confused, did the darkness or "IT" leave Camazots after Meg saved Charles?

    17. I agree with Nakeya because after reading each chapter. I kept wondering what was going to happen in this book. For example at the beginning of chapter 1 I wondered if Meg would ever find her father or not?

    22. I would recommend this for peopele who like fantasy. I would suggest this for people who have had a "wrinkle in time" or something that affected their life on this Earth as in a death of close relative or something in that situation.

    23. I agree with Aaron because my cousin tried to read this, but got very freaked out abouth the thought of a "darkness" and frozen people.

    24. I would recommend this to a friend because my friends like fantasy books and do not like realistic stories. Honestly I didn't like the story because it wasn't in my interest and I like stories that have a deep mystrey and this story didn't to me. The thing I did like is how all of the characters were linked together in personality like Calvin and Meg. I think it could have had a little more action in it but otherwise is was alright and I truly Recommnend this to a friend

    25. 4. I would definitely recommend this to a friend because it really makes you think. WiT really bends your mind and sends you on a journey with Meg, Calvin, and Charles Wallace. This book somewhat forces you into putting the shoe on your foot and stepping into Meg's position. But, this novel can be disturbing for some people because of darkness and frozen people.

    26. I agree with Imnani and Aaron because this story can be disturbing and overwhelming for some people. This is the case for many stories that are very intriguing. For example, "The Princess and the Frog" was really good but some scences were a little too graphic in my opinion, like the vodoo man raising the dead.

      4. I would recommend this story to a friend. It teaches the valuable lesson of being true to a friendship. These children had to stay together as friends and as family no matter what they encountered. This is the same in any friendship.

I have a total connection to Imani. I use to read this to my little sister and she was frightened about darkness no knowing what it meant but the way it sounded.

    30. 3. i think the title of the last chapter means that the foolish one is Calvin because in the book it says that he wanted to go inside IT, since that is where Calvin is. The weak is Meg because she couldn't be patient or silent.

    31. I agree with Zayd that I would recommend this book to a friend that likes to read. I didn't really read the book because I did not like to read.
